I've been a resident of Am Can since 1987. I very much oppose the Outfront Billboards that are "Under Review." I believe we have enough distractions to deal with when driving, can we NOT add on more. I think your commission can find other ways of revenues than these hugs ugly looking signs. Ending on a GOOD note....I did like the paperpoint presentation in the news letter. Thank you for your time.
I support the objection to this development. In addition to the points made below, I would like information on how these additional residents would be aborped into the AC school system. Alongside the WRSP development, our schools are under strain.
Planning Commission
I am writing to let you know that I am totally opposed to the Crawford Way Multifamily Project Design Permit and the project itself, number 3, on the agenda for the February 27, 2025, meeting.
First, I would like to point out that this agenda item was continued at the January 23, 2025, meeting and now it is postponed again for the February meeting by the developer. If the developer was coming in for a job interview and cancelled the appointment two consecutive times, I doubt a 3rd interview would be scheduled. This does not bode well for the future of this project. Please keep in mind the fiasco of the Supportive housing project on Broadway St. near the border of Vallejo and American Canyon, much of which had to do with project management problems from the beginning.
My reasons for opposition to this Multifamily Complex
• This is a high-density project,100 - 2- and 3-bedroom units on a 4.34 acre parcel is just too many units on this small parcel of land.
• Only one entrance/ exit into the complex. If several hundred people must leave quickly, and emergency vehicles are trying to get in, it could be a disaster.
• Traffic on Crawford Way will increase tremendously and merge on to James Rd. or HW 29, adding to more congestion through our town and increasing accidents as stopped cars pull out onto the highway.
• Even though each unit has a garage on the first level, 16 additional guest parking spaces are just not enough. Crawford Way and Canyon Plaza parking spaces will be full of the overflow of cars.
• Those of us on the West side of this project will be losing our privacy, as the second-floor balconies will face directly into our yards.
I have been told that this project will be approved once the developer meets all the building codes and requirements. This is so unfortunate for our neighborhood. The developer wants to put a high-density complex on a low-density property. I am adamantly opposed to this project.
Thank you for your time
