I oppose the major modification to the Chicken Guy Restaurant. The developer should pay 100% of the cost of the underground utilities. Underground lines are safer & less impacted by natural disasters, unlike overhead lines. For the safety of our city this modification should be denied.

Chicken Guy should have to pay far more than the measly 15% of the total cost. If they are so successful the money they make would pay for it in short order. Why should the tax payer be stuck with the bill. I feel that they should contribute a much larger sum for it to be approved. This in regards to the underground utility construction.

I oppose the modification for the Chicken Guy restaurant regarding the underground utilities. Part of the agreement was that the Chicken Guy restaurant would pay to have the overhead utilities made to be underground. An engineering firm they consulted estimated it would cost $462,499. The Applicant (Chicken Guy restaurant offered $75,000 as a financial contribution in-lieu of completing utility under grounding. Who will pay the difference?...the taxpayers ? or will the overhead utilities stay in place. It is my understanding the city of American Canyon's future in development strives to have underground utilities as a precaution to fires that are often caused by overhead utilities . For the sake of the safety of our city, this modification should be denied.
