First, I want to compliment the new Finance Director, for providing financial data for the Subcommittee to review prior to the meeting. This has not been done in the past.
Second, I would like to ask that a second similar table be developed, which would include the following headings: 1. Beginning Fund Balance; 2. Revised (per Mid-yr Adjustments) Budgeted Revenues and Transfers In; 3. Actual Year-to-date Rev & Trans In; 4. Revised Expenditures and Transfers Out; 5. Actual Year to date Expenditures and Transfers out; and 6. Estimated Ending Fund Balance, based on the revised budget.
This new table would give the general public the ability to see what the overall impact is to each fund, as well as a glimpse at the actual numbers (which helps the reader assess the likelihood of the estimated budget figures).
