Thank you for updating the General Plan for A.C & requesting public input. My concerns revolve around a HALT to further development of housing, apartments, hotels, fast food restaurants & warehouses. I would like to see more emphasis on Open Space, being respectful of the plants, wildlife, & waterways that will be impacted. Once the native plants & wildlife is destroyed there is no going back, especially concerning endangered species which apparently there are several fragile areas in A.C. I am proud that A.C residents vote NO on Measure J. The people said they did not want another warehouse or development encroaching on our beautiful, important wetlands. The TRAFFIC & CONGESTION on 29 is no secret. It would be important to have an Air Quality analysis done. I realize that roundabouts are in the plans for 29 in the future to possibly alleviate the congestion. Having grown up with roundabouts, this seems like a bad idea for 29 in A.C. I hope you look at other ideas instead of roundabouts.. Highway 29 roadway is a mess as well as the neighborhood roads. Many are like patchwork causing bumpy rides and damage to vehicles. I would like to see the roadways repaired before more housing is built causing more traffic from cars & trucks. Recently a small group requested that no more drive thru restaurants be built. To be clear, the restaurant was not the problem, the problem was the idling of engines causing more pollution.Convenience seemed to win & the restaurant will be built. Most arguments were that 29 was a horrible congestion issue & idling cars at a drive thru, not a problem. I would ask to consider no more drive thru's, & consider having "No Idling" zones in certain areas of A.C There are cities across the country that do this. A.C has been a wonderful place to live. My family has been here for 35 years. I realize we cannot stop "progress" but I hope we do this in a responsible manner for the people and all forms of life, for those living today and tomorrow. We need to be good stewards of our land.Thank you for listening to my comments.
