2.) Paintball Jungle Conditional Use Permit

I am a fan of outdoor activities, and walk or run almost daily in American Canyon at Wetlands Edge Park, which is close to Paintball Jungle. I looked on google and yelp and read reviews of Paintball Jungle going back decades, including a glowing review from Eric Altman. Apparently it has been operating at its current location since the 80s.

Yet if you ask any of my immediate neighbors what their first impression of Paintball Jungle is: speeding jeep, associated with Paintball Jungle operator.

So in addition to the unsafe condition created for neighbors with illegal speeding, my second concern is that the information shared in advance of the meeting makes no mention of amplified sound. Yet I have heard it in my backyard on Wetlands Edge Road. I would like more information about this, including how frequently and loudly they use it, and what times of day it is used. For example, the business website talks about games starting every 30 minutes. Do they require amplified announcements every 30 minutes then?

Amplified sound impacts our park users, and possibly future neighbors on Oat Hill, too. Around 8:30 am on a weekday morning, I was among 15 people entering Wetlands Edge Park to walk, some of them had their leashed dogs in tow. It's likely even busier on weekends.

And -- by the way -- Paintball Jungle's own website currently welcomes large groups of 250+, another difference from the staff report which mentioned 50% less. Yet the project documentation seemed to indicate less than 45 spaces is provided by the business. So, my third concern is that residential neighborhoods or the already busy limited parking at Wetlands Edge Park will become overflow parking for large events.

While I may be outside the notification range, I am inside the impact zone. I think more details are owned to our residences when a business that impacts the integrity of our neighborhood is being reviewed -- traffic speeding, amplified sound, overflow parking.

It should be more than "good will" notifications left to the discretion of the business. Everyone in the impact zone should be notified by mailed letter and let us know what the impacts are to our quality of life.

Thank you for listening to my concerns.

The noise from Paintball Jungle is audible on Bluebell Street so we cannot imagine how loud it must sound closer to Eucalyptus Drive. On days the Jungle is open vehicles often speed recklessly to and from the Paintball paying no attention to any speed limits in our residential area.
