I just found out about the plan to build low-income housing in my neighborhood, in front of my daughters' daycare! (Melvin Park)
I moved with my husband to American Canyon 2 years ago, hoping to build a life in this beautiful and safe city. A place where my daughter can grow, go to a good school, and play outside without me worrying about her safety.
That's all going to change once you complete this awful construction!
I won't be able to find parking to take my daughter to her daycare,I won't feel safe having her there at all.
But there are no other daycares around!
I also won't feel safe having her play outside, or even go for family walks in the area.
With this project, you are destroying everything I moved to this city for.
I ask you to rethink the project as it is now. Please consider a higher income for qualification, at least a 100k combined income.
It is not unreasonable and still considered low income.
Please add more parking spaces to cover the needs of the residents.
Please don't destroy everything I moved here for.
