Hello, Mayor Garcia, City Council and Director Ikeda,
as Chair of the Parks and Community Services Commission, I welcome Ms. Ikeda to our City's Parks and Recreation Department, and look forward to working with her! I'm proud of the our Parks Department, which achieved much during 2021: creating safe, outdoor events; employing key staff members despite financial challenges; celebrating the 4th of July at our parks, with fireworks - a much needed moral booster - while other cities canceled festivities; and organizing food distribution with multiple non-profit groups, to give 15 tons of free food to our residents. We look forward to working with Director Ikeda in 2022, to serve our wonderfully diverse and creative community in American Canyon.
